Kirtan & Chai - Women In Solidarity (WIS) Fundraiser for Sri Lanka

  • Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Melbourne Argyle Street Fitzroy, VIC, 3065 Australia (map)

You are invited to this special fundraiser event, organised by our community of Women in Solidarity (WIS).

The event is a Yogic Kirtan (chanting and sing-a-long to devotional music) as a special blessing to show our support for the people of Sri Lanka. Chai and light refreshments will be served afterwards.

The Evening will begin with a special puja ceremony (blessing) followed by Kirtan by the soulful sounds and music by Marija Janev.

The $50 cost of your ticket will go towards the purchase of a Coconut Coal Stove for a needy family/women in Sri Lanka. Due to the current economic situation and shortage of cooking gas + high cost of living disadvantaged families/women in Sri Lanka, now have no alternative than to cook their daily meals on an open firewood stove, outdoors.

The Coconut Coal Stove is a novel invention and made by a local manufacturer using offcuts and sustainable materials in Sri Lanka.
